Luke 8:11-15

Ask and you will receive. Knock and the door will be opened to you. Seek God and you will find Him.

Precept by precept the Holy Spirit will reveal to you the Christ and as you become a doer of His Word you will be changed. In the measure that you believe in God is the measure that you can receive from God. Faith alone pleases Him.

The soils do not represent individual moments of decision as much as a lifelong response to God’s Word. A person needs to meditate on the truths in Scripture and establish them as principles for living in order to withstand the trials and temptations that will inevitably come. The concerns of life can squelch spiritual growth. The key here is a noble and good heart. This “soil” allows the word of God to settle in and become productive.

Patience (or forbearing) is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on negative annoyance/anger; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. Patience is the level of endurance one can take before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast.

 Luke 8:11-15
11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

23  having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever
1 Peter 1:23

28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Luke 11:28

eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
Romans 2:7

36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Hebrews 10:36

You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

James 5:8
