Daniel 5:20-21

There are few things that God hates more than pride. Although the world would like you to  believe that it is all about you and  your needs and wants it is not. It is all how about the holiness and the dominion of  the Triune Godhead whose creation we are….to God be ALL glory in heaven as well as on earth.

Be humble….always!
humble |ˈhəmbəl|
adjective (humbler, humblest)
1 having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance
• (of an action or thought) offered with or affected by a modest estimate of one's own importance
2 of low social, administrative, or political rank
  • (of a thing) of modest pretensions or dimensions

Daniel 5:20-21
20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him. 21 Then he was driven from the sons of men, his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses.

24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the Lord, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the Lord, have spoken and have done it.”
Ezekiel 17:24

14 for at this time I will send all My plagues to your very heart, and on your servants and on your people, that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth. 15 Now if I had stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth. 16 But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.
Exodus 9:14–16

18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

The Holy Spirit, who abides in us, takes the things of God and reveals them to us. Without Him we could not understand the deep mysteries which were manifested in Christ Jesus.

Only the Holy Spirit could reveal the truths of God.

freely |ˈfrēlē|
adverb
not under the control of another; as one wishes
• without restriction or interference
• in copious or generous amounts
• openly and honestly
• willingly and readily; without compulsion

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

4For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.
Isaiah 64:4

11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
Matthew 13:11

12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:12

8 But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Job 32:8

John 10:7-10

Jesus is the only path to salvation. He is the truth of God, His Word, made flesh that all men would have the gift of redemption though His birth, His death and His resurrection. We, as believers, share as adopted sons in His inheritance.

The thieves take life; the shepherd gives it. Abundant life includes salvation, nourishment, healing, and much more. Life here refers to eternal life, God’s life. It speaks not only of endlessness, but of quality of life. With Christ, life on earth can reach much higher quality, and then in heaven it will be complete and perfect.

John 10:7-10
Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6

18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Romans 16:25-27

We are blessed by God through our faith in the salvation that He provided in Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit within us we are sanctified in His mercy and grace.

revelation (Gk. apokalupsis) (16:25; Eph. 1:17; 3:3; Rev. 1:1) Strong’s #602: Revelation is God’s communication to people concerning Himself, His moral standards, and His plan of salvation. God has made Himself known to all people everywhere in the marvels of nature and in the human conscience, which is able to distinguish right from wrong (1:18–20; 2:14, 15). The message of salvation was seen dimly through OT sacrifices and ceremonies. But the full and final revelation of God has occurred in Jesus Christ (Heb. 1:1, 2). At the Cross, Jesus revealed supremely God’s self-giving love (Rom. 5:8). The good news is not complete until we hear that He rose again triumphantly over sin, Satan, and the grave, and is alive forevermore. The content of God’s special revelation concerning salvation is found in “the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of … the apostles of the Lord and Savior” (2 Pet. 3:2).

Romans 16:25-27
25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—27 to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Ephesians 3:20

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
Jude 24

that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,
Colossians 2:2

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16

25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.

Ezekiel 22:29-31

Man left to his own devices will destroy everyone’s life including his own. Our only hope is in Christ Jesus and without His intercession we are eternally lost.

Only God could provide the truth and the pathway to eternal life, by substituting His life for ours in the cross of Jesus and through it the power of the Holy Spirit to change in us what we cannot.

As go the leaders so go the followers. Corruption ruled in the lives of the leaders and bled through to the people of the land- average, ordinary  citizens just like us.

Ezekiel 22:29-31
29 The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. 30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God.

16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

1 Corinthians 14:33

Help me Father to abide in Your peace.

Living in peace not tossed to and fro by the ever changing state of this world but in Your peace which is beyond our human understanding. Your peace You give to us in good and in bad times never leaving us alone without Divine Trinity Intervention!

peace |pēs|
noun
1 freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility: you can while away an hour or two in peace and seclusion.
• mental calm; serenity: the peace of mind this insurance gives you.
2 freedom from or the cessation of war or violence: the Straits were to be open to warships in time of peace.
• [ in sing. ] a period of this: the peace didn't last.
• [ in sing. ] a treaty agreeing to the cessation of war between warring states: support for a negotiated peace.
• freedom from civil disorder: police action to restore peace.
• freedom from dispute or dissension between individuals or groups: the 8.8 percent offer that promises peace with the board.
3 (the peace) a ceremonial handshake or kiss exchanged during a service in some churches (now usually only in the Eucharist), symbolizing Christian love and unity. See also kiss of peace at kiss.

1 Corinthians 14:33
33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

16 But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

Mark 3:22-27

If Satan can pit Christian against Christian he wins. Tolerance of the personal or political views of those who love Christ is the essence of God’s mercy towards us. United we can be collective doers of His commandments to love God above anything or any one and to love others as ourselves. His love covers a multitude of mans’ sins.

Jesus’ reply in parables was actually a threefold message that contrasted unity and disunity. Nothing—including Satan’s kingdom—can stand if it is divided.

Mark 3:22-27
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”

23 So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. 27 No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

Matthew 12:25

17 kBut He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

Luke 11:17

29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

Matthew 12:29

Luke 11:27-28

Help me Father to be a doer and not just a hearer of Your Word made flesh…. To love God above ALL and others as ourselves.

It is nothing to do with us and everything to do with Jesus.

Though Jesus always honored Mary, He commented carefully on the woman’s blessing to keep the focus on the word of God. Jesus offers His blessing to those who respond concretely to God’s will as expressed in the Bible.

Luke 11:27-28
27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

6For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

2Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!
Psalm 119:2

21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:21

25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13

It is not up to us to judge the world that is God’s job. It is up to us to let them know how much He loves them and wants them to be saved!

Paul here corrects a misunderstanding arising out of his previous letter. He had commanded the Corinthians to withdraw themselves from sexually immoral people. In this letter, Paul explains that he was not speaking of the pagan culture around them. If they withdrew totally they would be unable to function in the world. Instead, he was talking about the immorality in their midst. They should judge the sin among themselves, while still reaching out to the lost in Corinth.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13
I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”

But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
2 Thessalonians 3:6

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

Ezekiel 35:10-15

God is in control! He always has been and He will always be….…trust Him to fight our battles!

The outcome could be much different than you anticipate…..because He loves all the people involved without partiality and His justice done in mercy is quite different than mans’.

Edom expected to take over Judah and Israel after their destruction by the Babylonians. They were in for a surprise.

Ezekiel 35:10-15
10 “Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there, 11 therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will do according to your anger and according to the envy which you showed in your hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. 12 Then you shall know that I am the Lord. I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to consume.’ 13 Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them.”

14 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate. 15 As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom—all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’

He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’”
2 Chronicles 20:15

For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Matthew 7:2

13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
James 2:13

3“Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.

Nahum 3:13

We need to be aware of the attacks of the enemy. Satan prowls about like a roaring lion but he is no match for Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Without God we are powerless in the face of our enemies.

Despite the great economic and military strength of Nineveh, there was nothing lasting in the city’s power.

Nahum 3:13
13 Surely, your people in your midst are women!
The gates of your land are wide open for your enemies;
Fire shall devour the bars of your gates.

13For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you.

Ezekiel 22:17-22

Because He loves His children, those who call on His name, He corrects them. We will be changed.

The Silversmith must keep his eye on the silver the entire refining process or the silver is ruined….He has His eye on you!

These verses are primarily about God’s chastisement of His sinful people through the burning of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. Yet the verses also point to the fiery ordeals and trials that force all of us into a more perfect relationship with our Lord.

Ezekiel 22:17-22
17 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have poured out My fury on you.’ ”

10For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.
Psalm 66:10

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will refine them and try them; For how shall I deal with the daughter of My people?
Jeremiah 9:7

35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.
Daniel 11:35

9I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ”
Zechariah 13:9

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

James 1:2–5

Nahum 1:7-8

The Father knows those who are His.
He is a rewarder of those who trust in Him knowing that faith alone pleases Him.

The judgment of the Lord will be inescapable. The word flood is both a poetic term for overwhelming devastation and a specific reference to the actual manner of Nineveh’s fall. It is believed that the invaders of Nineveh entered the city through its flooded waterways.

Nahum 1:7-8
7 The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.
8 But with an overflowing flood
He will make an utter end of its place,
And darkness will pursue His enemies.
