Jeremiah 39:15-18

Our life belongs to God…..from the beginning of time, from the moment of our conception, He knew us and the troubles that would come into our life. Trust Him to guide you through those adversities and get you safely home to Him.

There are benefits to the salvation of the Cross…Jesus wins this battle of good and evil  by abiding in Him…so do we!

Christ within us is the hope of God’s glory put your trust in Him.

Ebed-Melech, who had carefully rescued Jeremiah from the muddy cistern in the prison court, was promised safety and deliverance by the Lord because of his assistance to Jeremiah and because he had put his trust in God.

Jeremiah 39:15-18
15 Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 16 “Go and speak to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring My words upon this city for adversity and not for good, and they shall be performed in that day before you. 17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says the Lord, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ”

10 For I have set My face against this city for adversity and not for good,” says the Lord. “It shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.” ’
Jeremiah 21:10

12 And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.
Daniel 9:12

And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the Lord. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go. ”
Jeremiah 45:5

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.
1 Chronicles 5:20

40And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.
Psalm 37:40

7Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.

Acts 13:44-48

God has always known those who would accept the salvation that He would provide in Jesus Christ.

Even so He wants ALL of His creation to have the opportunity to hear the truth and then accept or reject the salvation of the cross. Christ died for our sins…..all of our sins…and by accepting His death in our place the Father sees the sinless Son instead of sinful man.

Jesus, all God and all man, is the only legal way for man to reside with our pure and holy Godhead.

How will people hear the truth if we do not tell them of the power of the cross to save them?

The Jews in this verse were the Jewish leaders, those in the positions of religious authority. When the Jewish leaders saw the crowds following Paul, they changed their minds about Paul and became filled with jealousy, especially since many of the people who had gathered were Jews.

A person who convinces himself that he does not need forgiveness from the Holy One has already condemned himself.

Acts 13:44-48
44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:
‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,
That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

10But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 10

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Romans 1:16

19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”
Romans 10:19

6Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”

Song of Solomon 1:2-4

Our relationship with God is intimate and spiritual.

There is no one who loves us more than the Trinity and together we make up the Body of Christ.

We will spend eternity in His love and if we hold up this amazing grace all will be drawn to Him.

Because of its emphasis on human love, this book presents an extraordinary variety of expressions for love, perhaps the richest selection in all Hebrew Scripture.

Song of Solomon 1:2-4
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—
For your love is better than wine.
3 Because of the fragrance of your good ointments,
Your name is ointment poured forth;
Therefore the virgins love you.
4 Draw me away!

4I drew them with gentle cords, With bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them.
Hosea 11:4

44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:44

32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
John 12:32

“When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord God.

John 10:14-16

God knows those who have placed their trust in Jesus, the One true Shepherd, who was with the Father from the beginning and came willingly to the earthly realm to save the likes of me and you..and why?

Because God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die in our place.

It was too small a thing that His life be given up only for the Jews so God gave Him the world for His salvation!

The other sheep were not Jews in heathen lands, but Gentiles. The Jewish people had asked if Jesus would go and teach the Gentiles. Jesus now declared that He had sheep among the despised heathen.

One flock anticipates the salvation of the Gentiles and the formation of the church, in which converted Jews and Gentiles would form one spiritual body.

John 10:14-16

14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

11He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.
Isaiah 40:11

7The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
Nahum 1:7

19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
2 Timothy 2:19

27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him
Matthew 11:27

6“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles,

Romans 1:16-17

Man may try his best to make it about himself but he will always fail.

Scripture tells us time after time that It is nothing to do with us and our denomination but…..EVERYTHING to do with our faith in JESUS.

In the past, the believer has been saved from the penalty of sin. In the present, the believer is being saved from the power of sin. In the future, the believer will be saved from the very presence of sin.

Paul explains that Jesus Christ is the Second Adam whose righteousness and substitutionary death have provided justification for all who place their faith in Him.

In other words, Romans presents a Jesus who offers His righteousness as a gracious gift to sinful people like us because He bore God’s condemnation and wrath for our depraved nature.

Paul makes it quite clear that the Savior’s life, death, and resurrection are the basis for our redemption, justification, reconciliation, salvation, and glorification.

What is more, Paul contends that the Spirit of Jesus can motivate us to live responsible, Christlike lives.

Romans 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:24

and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Philippians 3:9

11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”

Acts 12:5-11

The spiritual prayers of those who totally trust in God can transform events and give protection in the physical world. Visions can and are used by the heavenly realm to warn us and to provide direction and protection for our life.

Does God intervene in all circumstances and change them?

No, but we need to pray for His intervention always knowing that ultimately His will will be done in the earthly realm where we reside.

Many years ago I was given 2 visions that were repeated 3 times in a row. One was the aroma of the prayers of the saints as it reached the spiritual realm, it was an old and familiar smell, and the other was the literal shield that was over me and I was allowed to hear the fiery darts that hit that shield and the ping as they were reflected off of it.

Has my life been without pain? No, but the events that I know were meant to destroy me spiritually have only strengthened my walk with the Trinity.

I believe and only that faith can get us safely home to the Father.

Why was Peter’s life spared while James’s life was taken? The answer is the sovereign will of God. If we believe that God is good and wise, we can trust that what He allowed to happen was part of His wise plan for the good of all of His people. When we place our complete trust in the goodness of God, we can find true peace.

God is in control despite any appearance to the contrary.

Acts 12:5-11
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,
Acts 5:19

About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
Acts 10:3

“I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.
Acts 11:5

7The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
Psalm 34:7

22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”
Daniel 6:22

19He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
Job 5:19

2The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

18Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,

Matthew 4:8-11

The way to overcome the temptations of the world is to use the Word of God….it is all powerful!

The way to know the Word of God to be able to use it to overcome temptation….read Scripture and listen to the Holy Spirit….together they are your defense!

Specifically in reference to Jesus, Satan was offering a crown without the cross.

Jesus’ experience serves as a pattern in spiritual warfare today: Jesus resisted Satan, then He defeated Satan with consistent, meaningful use of the Scriptures.

Matthews 4:8-11
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

15vDo not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:15–17

20 You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name.
Deuteronomy 10:20

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Luke 8:48

There is power in the blood of Jesus Christ.

By the stripes that He bore for our sins we are healed and anything that we ask in His name and in the will of the Father, believing,… will come to pass.

Just believe knowing that faith alone pleases God!

It took great courage for the woman with the issue of blood to seek out Jesus. Note that her action was not criticized, but commended. This miracle highlights not only the authority of Jesus, but also the response of faith that God honors.

Luke 8:48
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. uGo in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Mark 5:34

50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Lamentations 2:8

When we invite the Holy Spirit into our life, by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He will do whatever it takes to break down the walls of defense that we use to separate ourselves from trusting only in the Father and His will for our life.

Be prepared to change, precept by precept, into the image of His Son.

Jesus is the plumb line where heaven meets earth and the invitation of eternal life exists in the middle of that cross.

 Everything will change

every. little. thing.

Four weeks after the capture of Jerusalem, Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed the temple, the palace, the homes of the people, and the city wall.

Lamentations 2:8
8 The Lord has purposed to destroy
The wall of the daughter of Zion.
He has stretched out a line;
He has not withdrawn His hand from destroying;
Therefore He has caused the rampart and wall to lament;
They languished together.

14 And all the army of the Chaldeans who were with the captain of the guard broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.
Jeremiah 52:14

13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
2 Kings 21:13

Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said: “Behold, I am setting a plumb line In the midst of My people Israel; eI will not pass by them anymore. 9The high places of Isaac shall be desolate, And the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste. I will rise with the sword against the house of Jeroboam.”

John 2:13-17

We need to remember that our Churches are God’s house and not a meeting place to barter and sell the merchandise of the world.

The Church, the Body of Christ, needs to be a place of worship, prayer and learning the Word.

The expression My Father’s house was a distinct claim to messiahship. At the wedding in Cana, Jesus demonstrated His deity and power; here He showed His authority.

The Law of Moses required that any animal offered in sacrifice be unblemished, and that every Jewish male over 19 years of age pay a temple tax. As a result, tax collectors and inspectors of sacrificial animals were present at the temple. However, these officials would not accept secular coins because they had an image of the Roman emperor, whom the pagans worshiped as a god. To put such coins into the temple treasury was thought to be an offense. So in order to accommodate visitors in need of animals and the right kinds of coins, animal merchants and money changers set up shop in the outer court of the temple.

John 2:13-17
13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”

12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.
Matthew 21:12

15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.
Mark 11:15

17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”
Mark 11:17

45 Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,

Matthew 26:33-35

There was time in my life that pride in my righteousness and in my ethics made me feel superior….Oh how God used the events in my life to teach me how much He detest pride and arrogance.

Now I actively look for any signs of pride in my life and even then I stumble. How unworthy  I am to be entrusted with His precious gift of salvation….thank you Jesus that You are worthy and in Your righteousness there is hope.

The heart surrounded in love, fellowship and worship is willing but the flesh when it meets Satan’s deception can be totally deceived.

All the disciples, not just Peter, would fall away.

Matthew 26:33-35
33 Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”

74 Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.
Matthew 26:74

75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.
Matthew 26:75

30Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”
Mark 14:30

34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”
Luke 22:34

38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.

2 Timothy 2:14-19

We need to build up the Body of Christ in humility and in love using passages of Scripture to show the truth and then allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to do His mighty work

Paul encouraged Timothy to handle the word of truth in a straight way, like a road that goes straight to its goal, without being turned aside by useless debates.

Paul warns Timothy about two men, Hymenaeus and Philetus, who taught that the resurrection of believers had already occurred. This was probably an early form of Gnosticism that emphasized a spiritual resurrection as opposed to the Christian belief in a future bodily resurrection.

2 Timothy 2:14-19
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

Ezekiel 34:15-16

God hates pride and arrogance and

He loves the common man.

We need to think before we speak and love what He loves!

There is no room for hatred in the Christian community our job is to love others into the Kingdom because without love we are useless.

Israel, though guilty and misguided, would eventually be rescued by the divine Good Shepherd and restored to the Promised Land.

Ezekiel 34:15-16

15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God. 16 “I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.”

11He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.

Micah 5:2-5

Jesus came and will come again with shouts of peace, peace to the people on earth who have accepted God’s gift of salvation!

Spread the word Jesus is coming..

The interplay of texts of wrath and mercy in the Book of Micah mirrors the character of God, for even in His wrath He remembers mercy. Although the Lord was determined to maintain His holiness, He was equally intent on fulfilling His loving promises to Abraham. The Lord would balance His judgment with mercy.

Jesus is the mercy of God manifested to man. He is the dividing line… we either accept Him or deny Him we cannot do both.

Governments would be overturned to make it necessary for Mary while still pregnant to make the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

The birth of this Savior King would be unlike the birth of any other, because He   was preexistent. He  is from everlasting.

Micah 5:2-5
2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting.”
3 Therefore He shall give them up,
Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth;
Then the remnant of His brethren
Shall return to the children of Israel.

4 And He shall stand and feed His flock
In the strength of the Lord,
In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God;
And they shall abide,
For now He shall be great
To the ends of the earth;

5 And this One shall be peace.

6‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”
Matthew 2:6

11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11

6For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

14“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:14

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

Ephesians 2:1-10

By Grace Through Faith!

By grace we have been saved….now we need to go out and do the good works which God prepared for us to do from the beginning of time. In His mercy He allows the world to go on because He wants everyone to have the chance to accept His salvation in Jesus Christ.

There will come a time that this grace period will end.

Go out and tell the world the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the unfathomable love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for man, while there is still time.

We are to walk worthy of our calling, which means to walk in love, in light, and in wisdom.

Paul points out to the Ephesians that they formerly walked according to the world’s ways and after the prince of the power of the airnamely, the adversarial spirit Satan. The sons of disobedience are people who disobey, whether Christians or non-Christians.

Because of Adam’s sin, the entire human race is spiritually dead.

God desires to demonstrate His kindness throughout eternity through Christ Jesus His Son
This has nothing to do with our own merit. It is only because He is merciful and kind that He reaches out to save us.

Ephesians 2:1-10
2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
