1 Corinthians 1:4-9

God is faithful…..
and He will get you where you need to be at the right time to show His glory in unison with all who believe in His Son Jesus Christ. To God be all glory!

The Corinthian Church was filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit but in their immaturity they often resorted to societal norms in their everyday lives. But where the Spirit of God is hope springs eternal. Paul was certain that they would be transformed precept by precept into a vessel to be used for good.

God’s love covers a multitude of sins.

The thanksgiving Paul offers to God for the Corinthians seems odd, considering the many problems the church was experiencing. However, Paul focuses his praise not on the troubled Corinthians but on the eternally faithful God. Paul does not praise the Corinthians for their good works as he does some other churches; instead, he praises God who works in them.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
1 Corinthians 12:8

10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
2 Thessalonians 1:10

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Romans 1:8

13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

John 20:11-18

God shows no partiality…all His creation who were made in His image are equal in His eyes.

Jesus always noticed and elevated the unnoticed of society!

Knowing that the agape love of God covers a multitude of sins He showed this love in His dealings with people. Those who have been forgiven much love much.

Mary had grabbed Christ and was holding on to Him as if she would never turn Him loose. Christ explained to her that He could not stay because He had to ascend to His Father.

Though it may be that Mary was formerly a woman of ill-repute, this did not keep Jesus from commissioning her to bring the gospel message to the apostles

John 20:11-18
11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
Matthew 28:9

Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.
Mark 16:9

But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

Luke 11:27-28

More important than the life that brought Him into this world are those who hear the Word made flesh and heed His message to love God above anything and anyone and to love others as much as you do yourself.

When you lift up others in love you are exalting God.

The woman offered praise for Jesus’ mother. Though Jesus always honored Mary, He commented carefully on the woman’s blessing to keep the focus on the word of God.

 Luke 11:27-28
27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”

28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Luke 1:28

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.
Psalm 112:1

2Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!
Psalm 119:2

18Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Isaiah 48:18

21 Not everyone who says to Me, r‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:21

21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
Luke 8:21

25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

James 1:25

Luke 8:50

Just Believe :) and Pray in His name and all things will be made whole.

This miracle highlights not only the authority of Jesus, but also the response of faith that God honors.

Luke 8:50
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them

Jeremiah 39:15-18

Trust. God. Alone.

You are safe in His love… protected from evil and all who wish you harm.

His love never fails!

Ebed-Melech, who had carefully rescued Jeremiah from the muddy cistern in the prison court, was promised safety and deliverance by the Lord because of his assistance to Jeremiah and because he had put his trust in God.

Jeremiah 39:15-18
15 Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 16 “Go and speak to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring My words upon this city for adversity and not for good, and they shall be performed in that day before you. 17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says the Lord, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ”

He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence; but he who goes out and defects to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be as a prize to him.
Jeremiah 21:9

And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, fI will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the Lord. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.” ’ ”
Jeremiah 45:5

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.
1 Chronicles 5:20

40And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.
Psalm 37:40

7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
Jeremiah 17:7

8For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

1 Corinthians 15:56-57

Put your faith in Jesus Christ!

He knows and understands the physical trials because He was all man. He knows and understands the Spiritual trials because He is all God. He alone through the power of the Father’s heart, the Holy Spirit, will get you through anything that you face here on earth. We will fight evil in the flesh all the days of our life here on earth but one glorious day after this corruptible body is stripped from the soul we will be free from its shackles and be known and seen for the incorruptible creation that God intended from the womb. Who Christ makes free is free indeed.

The natural man fights the spiritual man.
The physical inherently seeks to understand the supernatural.
If we seek signs to verify His existence we will miss the gift of salvation that only comes by faith.

From the vantage point of Jesus’ victorious return, Death and Hades (the grave) have no power over Christians, because Jesus has already conquered both. We participate in His victory.

1 Corinthians 15:56-57
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:20

25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:25

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:37

14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
Hebrews 2:14

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Ezekiel 22:28-31

There are two paths to choose in life where good versus evil….God’s way is the right way and it is everlasting!

Jesus is the gate…enter in!

The Hebrew word means “mud-plaster” or “whitewash.” These prophets were involved in “whitewashing” the sins of the nation’s leaders.

God could not find a spiritual leader to guide the people in godliness.

Ezekiel 22:28-31
28 Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. 30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God.

10 “Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace—and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar
Ezekiel 13:10

They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed.
Ezekiel 13:6

“Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Exodus 23:9

33 And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.
Leviticus 19:33

16He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.
Isaiah 59:16

5 “Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.

Malachi 1:11

The Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, all praise and honor are rightfully His alone.

Who is man that He is mindful of him? Even so He loves us with an agape, unending love. Remember we love Him because He first loved us and made Himself  known to man.

How can we, His children, not return this great love by our obedience to His commands to love others by caring for them and in sharing the gift of salvation He provided in Christ Jesus?

Each day everything that we do should honor Him.

God would one day receive praise from all the nations. Even the despised Gentiles would offer praise, while God’s own people were profaning His holy name.

Malachi 1:11
11  For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down,
My name shall be great among the Gentiles;
In every place incense shall be offered to My name,
And a pure offering;
For My name shall be great among the nations,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

19So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:19

3The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Isaiah 60:3

8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
1 Timothy 2:8

18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.
Isaiah 66:18

Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9

Implode within your creation, Lord Jesus, collapsing the walls of man to expose the spirit.

Our hope is Christ within us… His legacy here on the earth that He created…until His return.

When we focus on people’s faults, hope soon wanes and discouragement follows. But when we concentrate on the Lord, even the darkest hours can be filled with praise.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9

4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

Luke 11:28

What we invest our time, energy, love and obedience in shows up in our everyday, ordinary lives.

Hypocrisy does not exists in God’s world.

To be true to His teachings is to be true to yourself.

In any area that you have trouble in….ask the Holy Spirit for His guidance and help and He will teach you the things that you need to grow.

The woman offered praise for Jesus’ mother. Though Jesus always honored Mary, He commented carefully on the woman’s blessing to keep the focus on the word of God. It is easy to allow traditional practices to take the place of the authority of the Scriptures.
Jesus offers His blessing to those who respond concretely to God’s will as expressed in the Bible.

Luke 11:28
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!

1Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.
Psalm 112:1

2Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!
Psalm 119:2

17Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17

18Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Romans 3:1-26

Nothing can separate us from the love of the Father except us.

God’s love is open and available to ALL who seek Him and believe in the salvation that He provides in Jesus Christ.

He sees the Christ in us, the hope of His glory because Jesus paid the ransom for those who came before Him and offers mercy and grace to all those who came after.

Keep the faith!

Do you believe in Jesus and accept that He died in your place for your sins? Then you are saved becauseHe is righteous, He is worthy and all power to move heaven and hell is in His hands!

The righteousness of God is not an attribute of God, but an act of God whereby He declares a sinner righteous. We cannot save ourselves because as sinners we can never meet God’s requirements. Our only hope is faith in Jesus Christ.

By His death, Christ satisfied the justice of God.

He paid the penalty of sin in full. Paul cites two reasons why the righteousness of God comes through Christ’s death. The first is to demonstrate that God Himself is righteous, and did not judge the sins committed prior to the Cross. The second reason for the Cross is that God wanted to show that He is both righteous and at the same time the One who can declare sinners righteous.

Because of Christ’s death, God does not compromise His holiness when He forgives a sinner.

Romans 3:21-26
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:8

11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”
Acts 15:11

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
1 Peter 1:10

Colossians 3:11

22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Galatians 3:22

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

Romans 16:17-20

Listen to what the Holy Spirit is teaching you and He will guide you in the way that you should grow!

Be aware of those who want to judge others on what they believe to be morally right if it is in conflict with the Scriptures but keep in mind that we are all in different stages of maturity.

Filter all things through love, respecting others, and to God alone be true.

Strife and rivalry cause dissension, which eventually leads to divisions in a church. Such dissension causes offenses—that is, it becomes a snare or stumbling block to others. Contentious, divisive people can cause others to stumble, so they should be avoided.

Divisive people destroy the peace and unity of the church, but God, who is the source of peace, will crush this work of Satan through the wisdom and obedience of believers.

Ultimately, God will totally defeat Satan and bring peace to the whole church.

Romans 16:17-20
17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
Acts 15:1

33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Ezekiel 20:33-44

God mercifully does not let go of His children easily

Amazing grace in Jesus Christ. The time is now… the choice is ours to make….choose wisely!

God grants each one a destiny consistent with his or her decisions.

The future repentant, renewed, and regathered Israel will be characterized by: (1) a return to the land of Israel and an acceptable, sacrificial system of worship; (2) a revived, personal knowledge of its sovereign and faithful Lord; (3) a renunciation of former sins; and (4) a recognition that God’s grace governs the nation’s history of sin and salvation.

Ezekiel 20:33-44
33 As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. 34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face. 36 Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,” says the Lord God.

37 “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; 38 I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

42 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I raised My hand in an oath to give to your fathers. 43 And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed. 44 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have dealt with you for My name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel,” says the Lord God.’ ”

5 I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger and fury and great wrath.
Jeremiah 21:5

9Therefore I will yet bring charges against you,” says the Lord, “And against your children’s children I will bring charges.
Jeremiah 2:9

35Yet you say, ‘Because I am innocent, Surely His anger shall turn from me.’ Behold, I will plead My case against you, bBecause you say, ‘I have not sinned.’
Jeremiah 2:35

23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’
Ezekiel 38:23

Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.

Jeremiah 22:13-17

Love God above all and love your neighbor as yourself. And who is your neighbor? Every human being created by God on this earth. That pretty much sums up the Law and its covenants….in the Old and in the New.

The rewards of living according to His commands is that one day you will hear “well done My good and faithful servant….well done!”

The key terms for true, biblical leadership quality—righteousness and justice—were negated by the king’s actions. The king was supposed to be the guardian of his people, but Jehoiakim enslaved his fellow Israelites to build his self-aggrandizing palaces.

Israel perished because of its lack of knowledge of God concerning the poor and needy.
Covenant violations would not go unpunished.

Jeremiah 22:13-17
13 “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness
And his chambers by injustice,
Who uses his neighbor’s service without wages
And gives him nothing for his work,
14 Who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house with spacious chambers,
And cut out windows for it,
Paneling it with cedar
And painting it with vermilion.’
15 “Shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar?
Did not your father eat and drink,
And do justice and righteousness?
Then it was well with him.
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy;
Then it was well.
Was not this knowing Me?” says the Lord.
17 “Yet your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness,
For shedding innocent blood,
And practicing oppression and violence.”

11“As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, So is he who gets riches, but not by right; It will leave him in the midst of his days, And at his end he will be a fool.”
Jeremiah 17:11

13 “Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst.
Ezekiel 22:13

13 ‘You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.
Leviticus 19:13

14 “You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.
Deuteronomy 24:14

9Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house, That he may set his nest on high, That he may be delivered from the power of disaster!
Habakkuk 2:9

4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabbath.
James 5:4

23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, d‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’

Jeremiah 7:23
