1 Corinthians 1:18-21

God uses the rejected of men to preach the simplicity of His Gospel, His Word made flesh, so that no man could boast.

For God loved His creation enough to allow His only begotten Son to live, to die and to redeem them through His precious blood. It is all about Jesus and Him crucified, in our place, for our sins so that we could have life…abundant and eternal!

The message of the cross is the gospel, the Good News about Christ’s death and resurrection for our sins. The gospel penetrates to the core of self-centeredness. For those who exalt self, the message sounds absurd. But for those who bow humbly in faith, it becomes the power that is able to snatch them from death and impart eternal life. No wonder Paul put such confidence in this message. All human efforts to find favor with God fall woefully short. Only through faith in Christ can we be saved from our sins.

1 Corinthians 1:18-21
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:15

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Romans 1:16

14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
Isaiah 29:14

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Romans 11:33
