Matthew 19:13-15 Childlike faith

We come to Christ with a childlike faith. Just as we trusted our father to care for and protect us we are to trust even more in our heavenly Father. No one will ever love us more than God. Our total dependence and faith in Him allows us to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus! The salvation the Father provided in His only begotten Son gives us the Holy Spirit to accomplish what we are unable to.

Glory be to Father, Son and Holy Spirit, out triune God.

Matthew 18:3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

Mark 10:15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Luke 18:15 Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

Luke 18:17 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

We are "born of the Spirit" if we hear the gospel and are saved through faith in Jesus, transformed into a new tree that will bear the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

The gospel is the proclamation of the Good News - and when we respond to that Good News by trusting in Jesus, the Spirit of God comes to dwell in us, and we live for Him. First 5

We can say that this week’s Sabbath Moments are dedicated to the child within us: because like it or not, our childhood stays with us forever, regardless of our age.  And I hope that we do, at times, continue to behave childlike. (Jesus seemed to think it was a good thing--something about entering the Kingdom of Heaven and all that.)

Childlike behavior may even help one stay pure at heart, and to live life simply. And simplicity is always a wonderful thing. It just may be that we're not childlike enough. Sabbath Moments

Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there. The New King James Version

It is well when we come to Christ ourselves, and bring our children. Little children may be brought to Christ as needing, and being capable of receiving blessings from him, and having an interest in his intercession. We can but beg a blessing for them: Christ only can command the blessing. It is well for us, that Christ has more love and tenderness in him than the best of his disciples have. And let us learn of him not to discountenance any willing, well-meaning souls, in their seeking after Christ, though they are but weak. Those who are given to Christ, as part of his purchase, he will in no wise cast out. Therefore he takes it ill of all who forbid, and try to shut out those whom he has received. And all Christians should bring their children to the Saviour that he may bless them with spiritual blessings. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary
