Jesus Christ, our resurrected Savior.

There is no other name by which we can be saved!

Jesus Christ, our resurrected Savior.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Acts 10:43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

Around us every day are communities of people God has placed in our lives: our families, co-workers, neighbors, friends, fellow shoppers and drivers, and more. What would it look like if each of us started to seek their welfare? What if we actively went out of our way to contribute to the good of others right where we are? What if we prayed for others' health, security, situations and relationships? We can be assured that our "Father who sees in secret will reward [us]" in eternity (Matthew 6:4).

In Matthew 5:43-44, He said, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. ' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…"

It's one thing to seek the welfare and peace of those we like and agree with. It hits a little differently when we start praying for good things for the people who hurt us or even hate us. Yet this is exactly the mindset we are called to have in Christ. As Christ followers, we are set apart to live a different way: God's way. It is not something we can do by our own willpower but only through the strength and work of the Holy Spirit growing us from the inside out. So let's keep praying blessings over our people, and as we do, let's also pray for all people, even those who have turned against us. First 5

There are times when to speak is to violate the moment. When silence represents the highest respect. The word for such times is “reverence,” and the prayer for such times is “Hallowed be Thy name!” Max Lucado

Christ in the Scriptures

Although Jesus ascends into heaven in chapter 1, He figures significantly in the rest of the Book of Acts. The resurrected Christ is the central theme of the sermons, defenses, and the life of the church through the entire book. Luke intended Acts to be an apologetic that logically attests to Jesus’ divinity. And he accomplished his purpose. Notice his references to the eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ resurrection, the firsthand testimonies of Jesus’ followers (including a converted critic of Christianity by the name of Saul), and the evidence of the Holy Spirit’s supernatural power.

No wonder Luke quotes Peter as saying, “To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins” (10:43). “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (4:12). The NKJV Study Bible

Acts 10: 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. 43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

Acts 4:11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

The New King James Version

The Greek text here seems to allude to Deuteronomy 21:22–23, which says that anyone who is executed by hanging on a tree is cursed by God. The implication is that, by taking on Himself God’s curse on the cross, Jesus satisfied the penalty of the law on behalf of all who will put their faith in Him. Peter stresses the bodily nature of Jesus’ resurrection.

Jesus is the one to whom all will give account on the day of judgment (Revelation 20).

Just as the builders did not perceive the stone’s value in Psalm 118:22, so Israel’s religious leaders did not recognize their Messiah.

Salvation refers to deliverance from God’s wrath and to enjoyment of His favor. This is only given through faith in Jesus, who grants new life to all who follow him and embrace the message of His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of their sin. Faithlife Study Bible

Let them know that this Jesus Christ, by whom peace is made between God and man, is Lord of all; not only as over all, God blessed for evermore, but as Mediator. All power, both in heaven and in earth, is put into his hand, and all judgment committed to him. God will go with those whom he anoints; he will be with those to whom he has given his Spirit.

Peter then declares Christ’s resurrection from the dead, and the proofs of it. Faith has reference to a testimony, and the Christian faith is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, on the testimony given by them. See what must be believed concerning him. That we are all accountable to Christ as our Judge; so every one must seek his favour, and to have him as our Friend. And if we believe in him, we shall all be justified by him as our Righteousness. The remission of sins lays a foundation for all other favours and blessings, by taking that out of the way which hinders the bestowing of them. If sin be pardoned, all is well, and shall end well for ever. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Psalm 118:22

The stone which the builders rejected

Has become the chief cornerstone.

Matthew 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejectedHas become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
