Jeremiah 39:17–18

We are safe in the loving arms of our Father, who in His mercy, gave us Jesus. By  faith we live in Him and through Him.

Faith is knowing that things unseen are more real than the things we can tangibly see, feel and touch in the world that we live in.

Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

God is a rewarder of those who trust Him. You will recognize them by the fruit of the Spirit in their good works done in His name through love.

God doesn’t want us to give him our best effort. We don’t try our hardest and then turn to God; we turn to God and trust him to do the work for and in us. The greatest force in the universe will work within you to give you the power you need to become more and more like him. Max Lucado

Jeremiah 39:17–18

17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says the Lord, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ” The New King James Version

Ebed-Melech, who had carefully rescued Jeremiah from the muddy cistern in the prison court (38:11–13), was promised safety and deliverance by the Lord because of his assistance to Jeremiah and because he had put his trust in God. The NKJV Study Bible

Ebed-melech (also rendered “Ebed-Melek”) will be spared because of his support for Jeremiah and devotion to Yahweh. Faithlife Study Bible

Here is a message to assure Ebed-melech of a recompence for his great kindness to Jeremiah. Because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord. God recompenses men’s services according to their principles. Those who trust God in the way of duty, as this good man did, will find that their hope shall not fail in times of the greatest danger. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

1 Chronicles 5:20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.

Psalm 37:40 And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.

Jeremiah 45:5 And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the LORD. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.” ’ ”
