1 Corinthians 3:7-11

The Body of Christ matters to God and our shared desire is to work together in unison with Holy Spirit for the salvation of souls. He wants no one to perish.  No. Not. One.

We are all, as believers, to spread the hope of the Gospel in Jesus Christ.

At the moment of our salvation, God replaces our old hearts with new hearts. (Ezekiel 36:26) Our new hearts awaken us to godly living because our relationship with God is restored.

A new heart brings new desires that can help us embrace abundant life. We are made alive to glorify God and respond to His grace by serving Him in obedience. We are "created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).  First5

1 Corinthians 3:7-11

7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. The New King James Version

Paul warns the Corinthians against judging their leaders according to human wisdom instead of God’s wisdom. He also reminds them that it is God who feeds and grows the church, not human leaders. Paul reminds the church that there is no room for rivalries. All leaders build on a single foundation—Jesus Christ—to help build up God’s temple—His people. Faithlife Study Bible

Paul had planted, or started, the church in Corinth; Apollos had watered it—had a significant ministry there after Paul left. But both men were only servants through whom God worked. The ones who plant and water have nothing to boast about because God gives the increase: Only God draws unbelievers to Himself. It is our responsibility to do our job no matter what the results, for God will reward us for our efforts and the quality of our work. The NKJV Study Bible

He that planteth and he that watereth are one, employed by one Master, trusted with the same revelation, busied in one work, and engaged in one design. They have their different gifts from one and the same Spirit, for the very same purposes; and should carry on the same design heartily. Those who work hardest shall fare best. Those who are most faithful shall have the greatest reward. They work together with God, in promoting the purposes of his glory, and the salvation of precious souls; and He who knows their work, will take care they do not labour in vain. They are employed in his husbandry and building; and He will carefully look over them. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Psalm 62:12 Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; for You render to each one according to his work.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.

Ephesians 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
