Mark 6:32-34

God honors our persistence. If we seek Him we will find Him. In Jesus He has given us everything we need. Compassion and mercy are two of the main characteristics of the Godhead.

As the Good Shepherd  Jesus has compassion for mankind and wants no one to perish!

We, as believers, are now given the privilege of being the hands and feet of Christ to show others God’s love for them.  John 3:16  God loved His creation enough to give them His only begotten Son to show them the way home.

Jesus willingly gave His life in exchange for ours. He did not leave us here to fend for ourselves but gives us Holy Spirit to live in us. In the measure that we allow Him, He will change us to be more like  Jesus!

There is healing in Gods’ wings.

And where the Spirit is, good can be worked. Peace can be found. Gentler answers can be given. Healing words can be spoken. Balled-up fists can be released. Progress can be made. The enemy can be defeated. God can be glorified. And the watching world can see more and more of the reality of Jesus in us. First5 Lysa TerKeurst

Mark 6:32-34

32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves. 33 But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him. 34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things. The New King James Version

Having described King Herod’s despicable birthday banquet, Mark presents Jesus presiding over an even larger feast as the true leader of God’s kingdom who truly provides for God’s people. Faithlife Study Bible

The Gospels record several times that when Jesus saw a need He was moved with compassion. That compassion led to action, despite an obvious lack of food in this instance. The NKJV Study Bible

Christ notices the frights of some, and the toils of others of his disciples, and provides rest for those that are tired, and refuge for those that are terrified. The people sought the spiritual food of Christ’s word, and then he took care that they should not want bodily food. If Christ and his disciples put up with mean things, surely we may. And this miracle shows that Christ came into the world, not only to restore, but to preserve and nourish spiritual life; in him there is enough for all that come. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Numbers 27:17 who may go out before them and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the LORD may not be like sheep which have no shepherd.”

Matthew 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Luke 9:11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.
