Luke 8:49-50

Just BELIEVE!

Death and sickness are ultimately defeated in faith in Christ and nothing is impossible.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Grace is not a theological construct, as if something we need to find the right answer to, in order to pass the test. Nothing to earn or achieve. Grace is letting yourself be embraced. And seen. Knowing that this you, is enough. Let that settle in for a wee bit. This you, is enough. Messy? Yes indeed. Complicated? Troubled? Rough edges and needing repair? Most likely. And none of that changes the affirmation of grace. Terry Hershey “SabbathMoments “

Luke 8:49-50

49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.”

50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

Luke’s third demonstration of Jesus’ messiahship in this chapter involves two miracles. The first testifies to His power over sickness and the human body; the second shows His power over death.

This miracle highlights not only the authority of Jesus, but also the response of faith that God honors. NKJ Bible.

Observe Christ’s comfortable words to Jairus, Fear not, believe only, and thy daughter shall be made whole. No less hard was it not to grieve for the loss of an only child, than not to fear the continuance of that grief. But in perfect faith there is no fear; the more we fear, the less we believe. Matthew Henry.

Matthew 9:24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him.

Matthew 9:25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

Matthew 9:26 And the report of this went out into all that land.
