Take God at His word!

Faith is trusting God and our faith  pleases Him.

Scripture is His words. Jesus is the Word made flesh. We are not left alone. Holy Spirit  will direct our life.

Take God at His word! Jesus came to free us from the bondage of sin restoring us to the Father to give us an abundant life in Him. We are free indeed!

Romans 10:17 so then faith comes by hearing but hearing comes from the Word of God.

Lamentations 3:25: "The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him."

Whatever it is you are feeling, God cares. First5

Can it be true that I am loved, or am somebody, only because I keep the rules, or play the role, or worry about what others think?
If that is the case, then this weight means that I am no longer free...
To risk, or to try.
To live unbridled.
To give.
To show mercy.
To right wrongs.
To celebrate.
To savor.
To love.

I choose to learn the dance between letting go and gratitude.

Jeremiah 17:7–8

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,

And whose hope is the LORD.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,

Which spreads out its roots by the river,

And will not fear when heat comes;

But its leaf will be green,

And will not be anxious in the year of drought,

Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 39:15-18

Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 16 “Go and speak to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring My words upon this city for adversity and not for good, and they shall be performed in that day before you. 17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says the Lord, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ” The New King James Version

These chapters, 40:1–44:30, record the events of the aftermath of Jerusalem’s destruction. Gedaliah is appointed governor by Babylon, but a rebellious faction among the survivors of Judah plots his assassination. Gedaliah’s supporters still fear Babylonian reprisal for his death, so they flee to Egypt, taking Jeremiah and Baruch with them despite Jeremiah’s insistence that Yahweh’s will is for them to remain in Judah and rebuild. Once in Egypt, Jeremiah prophesies against idolatry and criticizes the Jewish refugees settling in Egypt for abandoning their country and their God. Faithlife Study Bible

Ebed-Melech, who had carefully rescued Jeremiah from the muddy cistern in the prison court was promised safety and deliverance by the Lord because of his assistance to Jeremiah and because he had put his trust in God. The NKJV Study Bible

Here is a message to assure Ebed-melech of a recompence for his great kindness to Jeremiah. Because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord. God recompenses men’s services according to their principles. Those who trust God in the way of duty, as this good man did, will find that their hope shall not fail in times of the greatest danger. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Jeremiah 38:1–13 Now Shephatiah the son of Mattan, Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchiah heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken to all the people, saying, “Thus says the LORD: ‘He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence; but he who goes over to the Chaldeans shall live; his life shall be as a prize to him, and he shall live.’…

Jeremiah 45:5

And do you seek great things for yourself?

Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the LORD. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.” ’ ”
