Daniel 12:7 eternal rest in Jesus

When will the end of the age come? No one knows but the Father.

We now live in the age of grace. Faith alone pleases the Father. Faith in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He  died in our place. Grace amazing grace.

Ephesians 2:88 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We all have something that God can use.

We are all laborers with God. We are His building. Paul likened himself to the wise master builder who laid the foundation with the cornerstone, Jesus. We build on the mystery of God given in the salvation of Christ Jesus. He gave His life in exchange for ours that we may live with Him for eternity. There is no other foundation but Jesus. 1 Corinthians 3:9-11

The preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret from the beginning. The mystery that  Jesus died for all mankind taking on the sins of the world. It is our free will  to accept God's precious gift  of salvation. (John 3:16))

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Galatians 1:11But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Galatian 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles,

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Somehow, we don’t believe we are wired for grace. There is in all of us a need to prove something. Something about our value tied to performance. Just think of the way we greet one another. What did you do today? What have you done for me lately? And God forbid if our answers fall short.

We live in a world that needs healing, from the gentle arms and hands of grace.

And every gift of grace... every smile, every laugh, every moment of kindness, every bit of gentleness and tenderness, lets a little more healing light spill into our world. Sabbath Moments

Daniel 12:7

7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. The New King James Version

A time, times, and half a time, which adds up to three and one-half years, may refer to the period immediately preceding the Second Coming of Christ. Others have suggested that this expression does not refer to a specific number of years but instead a period of time that the Lord would shorten because of His mercy. The NKJV Study Bible

Daniel must comfort himself with the pleasing prospect of his own happiness in death, in judgment, and to eternity. It is good for us all to think much of going away from this world. That must be our way; but it is our comfort that we shall not go till God calls us to another world, and till he has done with us in this world; till he says, Go thou thy way, thou hast done thy work, therefore now, go thy way, and leave it to others to take thy place. It was a comfort to Daniel, and is a comfort to all the saints, that whatever their lot is in the days of their lives, they shall have a happy lot in the end of the days. And it ought to be the great care and concern of every one of us to secure this. Then we may well be content with our present lot, and welcome the will of God. Believers are happy at all times; they rest in God by faith now, and a rest is reserved for them in heaven at last. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Revelation 10:5–7 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
