Live Expecting God to show up!
Growing in expectancy
John 3:30
30 He must increase, but I must decrease
How big is your God? What is our perspective of Him. Is He really loving and good in your mind? How in touch with you is He in your life?
It is important to see God how He really is.
He is our biggest fan. He never holds a grudge. He is perfectly loving.
He will show up every time.
God is practical. He is a realist. He knows the trials and tribulations that we are going through. He gives us practical advice in Scripture. He gives us Holy Spirit to guide and direct us in to His perfect will.
Romans 12:2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Think expectantly
Speak expectantly
Live expectantly
2 Corinthians 10:5
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Whatever we are going through we can make it obedient to Scripture.
Culture engrosses us in every thing that IT deems worthy.
Philippians 4:
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
We need to start thinking expectantly. Expecting God to show up.
Joshua 1:
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Deuteronomy 6:
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
We need to start speaking the truth to others.
The more that we have of the Word of God in us will overflow in to other peoples lives. We need to seep our lives in the truth of the Word of God.
Matthew 12:
34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Proverbs 18
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Words give permission. They can invite God in OR shut Him out.
We need to start living expectantly. Praising Him for all He does in our life.
Philippians 4:9
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
Practice makes permanent and reinforces our faith.
By thinking expectantly.
By speaking expectantly.
By Living expectantly
We build up our relationship with God.
Galatians 5:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
