New Year Renewed Mind
We need to take time in our business to let Holy Spirit in.
Faith comes from surrender and not from striving. You can strive to be disciplined but faith comes from yielding to the Spirit of God. The mindset of the flesh is hostile to God.
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
Roman 8:5-6
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
James 3:13-18
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
Meekness is not weakness. Weakness is yielding our strength to God. Be humble.
16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Discernment is a good thing. It is a gift of the Spirit.
We will know others by the fruit of the Spirit in their life. We take offense too easily. Identify offense and pray for its dismissal in our life. We can offend others and not realize it. And we can be offended and forgive…”I give up my right to be offended”…it is a Godly choice.
Forgive quickly.
Romans 12:1-2
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Become a living example of Micah 6:8
We need to change, repent and allow Holy Spirit to change us from the inside out.
His ways are not our ways. He sees the whole of a matter when we only see darkly as if through a thick glass. Ask Him for His ways to prevail in all our situations. Jesus modeled a new way of living.
John 3:13-17
13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
In our weakness He is made strong. In Jesus we are made sons and as such we dwell in the Holy Spirit as He dwells in us.
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. The New King James Version
Pray that God’s will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
The return of Christ will come with the renewed mind of Christ. The transformation of a person’s life is no greater than the transformation of a person’s mind. Don’t be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
