1 Corinthians 3:15-17

There are consequences to our actions and as believers in CHRIST the HOLY SPIRIT dwells in us. He is holy and we are His temple. Each action we take has a reaction. It is only because of GOD’S mercy and grace in JESUS that we are not consumed and GOD corrects those He loves. Christ within is the only hope of success in our christian walk. what we cannot do…he can!

The Spiritual supersedes and is is greater than the physical.

The spiritual enables us to endure the physical.

He keeps in perfect peace those who keep their eyes on Him.

What is unseen is more real than that which we can see with our physical eyes.

The nature of this fire is evaluative, not punitive. Paul uses the plural form of a Greek term to emphasize that the entire Church community is God’s temple (His dwelling place on earth), not just select individuals. Faithlife Bible.

There are two words translated temple in the New Testament. One refers to the temple building and all its courts; the other refers strictly to the Most Holy Place where no one but the high priest could go. Paul uses the latter term to describe the local church, in whom God dwells. Unlike 6:19, where the word temple refers to the individual believer, and Ephesians 2:21, where the word speaks of the church universal, these verses speak of the local church as God’s temple. God takes very seriously our actions in the church. Any person who disrupts and destroys the church by divisions, malice, and other harmful acts invites God’s discipline. NKJ Bible.

1 Corinthians 3:15–17 (NKJV)
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Romans 8:9 (NKJV)
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

2 Timothy 1:14 (NKJV)

14 That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
