Ezra 8:21-23

My mother’s youngest sister, only four years older than I am, is having stints replaced in her heart. I prayed for her and her little family confident that He answers our prayers!

It is hard to grasp that the Creator of this world, the Maker of both heaven and earth, lowers His ear to hear our cries. What a wonderful God we serve! He showed me many years ago that Micah 6:8 is so very important in our relationship with Him. He values our humble trust in Him and His mercy and grace. Our enemy roams this world seeking believers..to steal their joy in the Lord, kill the hope that they have in Jesus Christ and destroy the very essence of God that abides in them before it can take root and grow.

Forgive quickly
Be fair in everything that you do
and through all things, the good, the bad and  the downright ugly things that life can throw at you remain humble trusting Him to never leave your side.

To persuade the king to let him return to Jerusalem, Ezra had told him about the power and wrath of God. So when Ezra received the king’s permission to return, he was ashamed to ask for an armed escort. Later Nehemiah would accept a military escort for his return to Jerusalem.

Ezra 8:21–23 (NKJV)
21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. 22 For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” 23 So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

8 Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.
Psalm 5:8

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,
Psalm 33:18

15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.
Psalm 34:15

22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Psalm 34:22

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28

13 and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

2 Chronicles 33:13
