Matthew 27:29-31

For three years Jesus preached the Good News of the Gospel. He stood up to the powerful leaders of His time admonishing them with the very Scriptures that they taught in the synagogue but failed to live out in their personal lives. Love, with repentance and forgiveness, was preached to all who would listen and believe. We will have many nay sayers in our lives but we only need to stand up for what is good and right in His eyes….not the worlds. He suffered for the sins of all people. Even though it was within His power to retaliate He chose not to. Through His suffering, death and resurrection God gave man the right to choose Him as their Savior.

We don’t need to accept the morality of this world…we only need to accept that He rose in our place overcoming this world!

Crucifixion, a practice probably adopted from Persia, was considered by the Romans to be the cruelest form of execution. This punishment was reserved for the worst criminals; Roman citizens were not crucified.

Matthew 27:29-31
29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Isaiah 53:3

19 and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”
Matthew 20:19

6 I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 50:6

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

Isaiah 53:7
