Daniel 2:17-23

My prayer is that I always hear You and the knowledge and understanding that You give even if I live to be 100. From You alone comes knowledge and without You there is no understanding. By prayer and supplication to You we are given the answers that we seek. Whoever seeks finds. Whoever knocks the door is opened. Whoever asks is given. The key to understanding the things of God is prayer. Jesus is the light that exposes the darkness and reveals the truth of  salvation. His light overcomes the dark and the Holy Spirit takes the things of the Christ and explains them to us.

Daniel, despite his education and expertise, still knew that prayer to the omniscient God was the first step in any situation. Deep refers to something inaccessible. What is in the darkness is hidden from sight.

Daniel 2:17-23
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, 18 that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
23 “I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”

that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Daniel 2:18

“With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.
Job 12:13

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.
Psalm 147:5

You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 32:19

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.
Psalm 25:14

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Romans 11:33

Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
1 Kings 3:9

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

James 1:5
