Jesus willingly gave His life so that we could live in eternity with Him in His Resurrection. Jesus overcame death and it is finished. It has been almost 21 years since my only son was killed in a work related automobile accident…I can understand, in part, the devastation that the Father suffered at His only Sons’ crucifixion. Jesus knew of His sufferings beforehand but in love for God’s creation He gave His life to redeem ours.
Matthew 27:22–25
22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!” 23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!” 24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.” 25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.” The New King James Version
1 John 5:6-8 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
We are born again in Spirit and in truth through Christ. Jesus came in the flesh as a man but remained God laying aside His deity to serve God in His birth, death and resurrection. In Him is righteousness and the whole of Gods’ love for His creation. Jesus was totally man and totally God.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. No person in unbelief can enter. We are drawn into His truth and live in it the moment we belief. We are born in the flesh but we are reborn in faith and given the Spirit to abide in us. We are cleansed in the redemptive blood of Jesus the Christ. We are matured by Holy Spirit in His ways.
Zechariah 8:23 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” ’ ”
As God’s covenant people Israel was to carry the truth of God’s existence to the world. Many will seek His truth and come to Jerusalem and pray to Him. For God will be with them.
Isaiah 61:10
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Rejoice in the Lord and be joyful He has clothed us with salvation and His robe of righteousness.
Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
God sent His Son Jesus, made of a woman under the Law of Israel, as the Messiah King but God in His grace gave all of humanity the choice to choose Him to be His adoptive children in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:76-79
“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest;
For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
To give knowledge of salvation to His people
By the remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our God,
With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;
To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

The cries of the crowd correspond with Jesus’ prediction about His death. The Passover festival had brought crowds of people—and the threat of riots—to Jerusalem. Washing his hands Pilate’s act was signifying absolution, although technically as governing authority, Pilate is still partly responsible. The Jewish leaders who oppose Jesus are partly responsible for His death. Despite the crowd’s rash statement this does not amount to culpability for an entire nation or people group. In addition, Isaiah 52:10, as well as Jesus’ own words in Matthew 16:21, indicate that Jesus’ death was ultimately God’s decision, for the salvation of humanity. Faithlife Study Bible
The religious authorities, who wanted to avoid a riot earlier, here used a tumult (the same Greek noun) to accomplish their goal. The tenure of Pilate had been rocked by conflicts with the Jews from the very beginning. He could scarcely have afforded another one on his record. Once again, Pilate pronounced Jesus to be innocent. The washing of his hands is recorded only by Matthew. The governor vainly attempted to rid himself of the guilt of condemning an innocent man to death (Deuteronomy 21:1–9; Psalm 73:13). The NKJV Study Bible
Acts 5:28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”
Matthew 26:5 But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”
Matthew 27:4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”
When we do sin, despite God's warnings not to, we may face consequences of our choices; however, we needn't fear being exiled from God's presence. Today, we have forgiveness through faith in Jesus. Praise God for His "If This, Then That" promise to us in Christ: If we confess our sins, then He "will forgive [our] wrongdoing, and [He] will never again remember [our] sins" (Hebrews 8:12, CSB).
Descriptions of royal unrighteousness reveal that even kings were not immune from sinning: "For all have sinned and fall short ..." (Romans 3:23, CSB). Thankfully, God saves sinners "freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24, CSB)! First 5
“Anything will give up its secrets if you love it enough. Not only have I found that when I talk to the little flower or to the little peanut they will give up their secrets, but I have found that when I silently commune with people they give up their secrets also—if you love them enough.” George Washington Carver (excerpt Sabbath Moments)
