John 4:21–26 Name above all names!

Jesus Messiah name above all names blessed redeemer Lord of all!

John 4:21–26

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” The New King James Version

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

The love of God as born again believers allows us to live good decent lives and to keep His commandments. In loving God above all and loving others we fulfill the commands of Jesus. We overcome the world in faith in Him. Christ died for the sins of the world now there is neither Jew nor Greek, rich nor poor, male or female we are all the same in faith in Him. Jesus came in fulfillment of the Old Testament to Israel and in them we are blessed.

Matthew 10:16

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

The testimony of Jewish believers in Jesus was given to spread the Word of Gods’ salvation to all who would accept Him as their Messiah. God knows the present, the future and the past He knew salvation in Christ would be the salvation of the world. We only need to accept it by faith in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God. God welcomes us back even when we stray and our lives are undeserving and His grace is unmerited.  He welcomes us back just like the prodigal son. He wants no one to live without Him in their life.

in Christ and in the power of Holy Spirit we can be successful in overcoming sin in our lives. Precept by precept we are changed and matured. We must believe in the salvation of Christ to enter into His Gospel of Grace. Faith pleases God and allows Him to work in our lives.

Jesus is the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Him as the Son of God who died for them will not perish but will have everlasting life with God.

Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.

Jesus came as the Messiah of Israel, but when they rejected Him the Gospel of Grace was offered to all people who by faith accepted His salvation.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Jesus does not take up the debate over legitimate holy places. Rather, he points to a future time of salvation when worship will not be limited to any local sacred site, neither Mount Gerizim nor Jerusalem. How one worships is more important than where one worships. In the Greek text, the word for “you” is plural. Jesus probably is alluding to the Jews’ preservation of the entire old testament Scriptures that revealed God’s plan for salvation. Also, the Messiah would be from the Jews, a son of David—not a Samaritan or Gentile. Jesus’ work in the present inaugurates a new phase in redemptive history. Authentic worship involves an inward change of heart, not just outward observance. Real followers of God worship in complete sincerity.

The Samaritans expected a deliverer called the taheb or “Returning One” who fulfilled the promise of a prophet like Moses. Jesus rarely confirms being the Messiah, probably due to expectations of political deliverance among Jews. The Samaritan concept of a Messiah was linked more to the restoration of proper worship of God. This is one of the “I am” sayings in John’s Gospel. Faithlife Study Bible

Salvation is of the Jews means that the Messiah would come from the Jewish people. God is not limited by time and space. When people are born of the Spirit, they can commune with God anywhere. Spirit is the opposite of what is material and earthly. Christ makes worship a matter of the heart. Truth is what is in harmony with the nature and will of God. It is the opposite of all that is false.

Here the truth is specifically the worship of God through Jesus Christ. The issue is not where a person worships, but how and whom.

The Samaritans believed that the Prophet of Deuteronomy 18:15 would teach all things when he came. I … am He: Using the same words that God used when He revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14, Jesus clearly stated that He is the Messiah. The NKJV Study Bible

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

John 5:25–29 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself…

Isaiah 2:3

Many people shall come and say,

“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,

To the house of the God of Jacob

He will teach us His ways,

And we shall walk in His paths.

”For out of Zion shall go forth the law,

And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Romans 3:1–2 What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.

Romans 9:4–5 who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.

What does it mean to rest in beauty?

Not tidiness, beauty… the sacrament of the present moment?

It is a gentle healing restorative reset button, about what truly matters.

It's not been easy for so many, tempests carrying discomfort and pain, and our expectations (plans) in disarray. And yet, is it possible?

Maybe unexpected flowers inviting us and allowing for the sacrament of the present moment.

Even in the midst.

And I wonder. Does it sometimes take “disarray” for us to pay attention?  Sabbath Moments

God promises never to leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8). We can trust Him to fulfill His good purposes as we keep our eyes on Him, whether on the mountaintop, in the wilderness or anywhere else.

Our gracious God knows our weaknesses. He knows we need His help to fulfill His purposes. And we can trust that whether we feel victorious or hopeless, God will provide what we need to carry on for His name's sake. We can rest in His faithfulness and trust His heart, just as Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30:

"Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (CSB). First 5
