Luke 17:9-10

Good works are a natural extension of our love for God and  gratitude for His gift of salvation in Jesus!

Luke 17:9-10

9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. 10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’ ”

May I respond in humility. Help me to turn my questions into the simple acknowledgment that You are God and I am not. By the strength of Your Holy Spirit in me, may I live by my faith in who You are, trusting Your righteous judgment, trusting Your everlasting ways. In Jesus' name, amen. First5

Jesus encourages His disciples to conduct themselves as humble slaves to God, in contrast to the self-aggrandizing Pharisees. Faithlife Bible.

As with God nothing is impossible, so all things are possible to him that can believe. Our Lord showed his disciples their need of deep humility. The Lord has such a property in every creature, as no man can have in another; he cannot be in debt to them for their services, nor do they deserve any return from him. Matthew Henry Commentary.

Job 35:7 If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?
