Luke 12:1-3

We are not to judge non believers, that is God’s job, we are to judge those who call themselves believers.

If nothing else this 2016 election has shown my husband and I the hypocrisy of the religious right. Calling names and calling for violence reminds us of the mobs shouting  “Crucify him”. We speak of love in our Churches and speak hate in our conversations. Now the violence they shouted for is being carried out in the streets.

God help America.

Leaven here represents the presence of corruption. Unleavened bread is what the Jews ate at Passover. The corruption in view here is hypocrisy. Practicing hypocrisy is senseless because eventually all deeds—both good and evil—will be exposed.

We do not have to respect the president elect as a man. As a young mother who experienced being groped and as a woman who left a good paying job because of sexual harassment… I have known men like Donald Trump and they do not earn my respect. Nor do we have to respect his mistress/wife as a women.

BUT we do have to respect the office of the Presidency. I will pray for a successful term in office because in a peaceful transition our country will have peace.

God is always in control and we will learn our lessons one way or the other.

Luke 12:1-3
12 In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:6

12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Matthew 16:12

39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.
Luke 11:39

26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

Matthew 10:26
