Acts 8:34-40

God loves all of His children and will use any of us who place our will into His hands. Those who are voluntarily celibate can spend more time doing His will without the obligations that family brings. All things are possible for those who believe and in the measure that we believe we receive.

Our faith pleases God…Just B.E.L.I.E.V.E.

A eunuch is usually defined as a man who has been castrated. A broader definition includes men who are impotent or who are voluntarily celibate.

Jesus also mentions the unique place of eunuchs in His kingdom in Matthew 19. He had just explained the biblical grounds for divorce—which were far stricter than Jewish society allowed for. The disciples responded, basically saying that if it was so hard to divorce, it would be easier to never marry at all. Jesus responded, "For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it”.Paul elaborated in 1 Corinthians 7, saying that singleness and celibacy are a gift for those who can accept them. Especially in times of political danger or for those who wish to completely dedicate their lives to the Lord with no distraction.

Having heard the message of Christ’s sacrifice for sin, the eunuch responded to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Irenaeus, an early church father who lived between a.d. 130 and 202, wrote that the eunuch returned to Ethiopia and became a missionary to his own people.

Acts 8:34-40
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:16

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:16

14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.
Ezekiel 3:14

2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:2
