Reconciliation, the blessed gift of God! He came to earth and sacrificed His life for ours so that never again will we be separated from Him. We as believers were grafted into the Body of Christ by Israels’ denial of Jesus as their King. Jesus will reconcile Israel to Himself in His devotion and mercy. He will take back what satan tried to steal.
Micah 6:8 what does God require of us?
8 He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Grace, the amazing grace of the salvation of Jesus Christ offered to mankind… all God-all man!
Hosea 13:4
“Yet I am the LORD your God
Ever since the land of Egypt,
And you shall know no God but Me;
For there is no savior besides Me.
For in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead. We, as believers, are complete in Him. Everything in heaven and on earth is under His control.
Jesus is the visible manifestation of the invisible God. By Him were all things made. By Him all things exist. All principalities and powers are under His control. Colossians 1:15-18. He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 16:15-17
We who were dead our sins He has quickened and made alive having forgiven us ALL of our trespasses. Colossians 2:13-14. In Christ we receive a spiritual circumcision not of human hands. Cutting off that which was not needed, the old Adam, it was crucified by Christ. Colossians 2:11
Hope for peace...
Hope for the healing power of restoration (inclusion and hospitality and forgiveness)—the simple gifts of grace that spill from peace—the power of a smile, a kind word, the sound of laughter and a hug. Sabbath Moments
Hosea 2:19
“I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; 20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord. The New King James Version
The four virtues listed in this verse, combined with the faithfulness mentioned in Hosea 2:20, form the essence of Yahweh’s character. Biblical writers frequently mention these virtues together. The central ethical principles of the old testament. In the book of Jeremiah, the imagery of restoration is developed further. Faithlife Study Bible
Betrothal was a binding commitment, the last step before the wedding and consummation. The Lord emphasized that the new marriage between Himself and Israel would be permanent. Lovingkindness means “devotion, commitment.” Israel would respond positively to the Lord’s love and acknowledge that He is her husband and benefactor. The NKJV Study Bible
This may foretell the restoration from the Babylonish captivity; and also be applied to the conversion of the Jews to Christ, in the days of the apostles, and the future general conversion of that nation; and believers are enabled to expect infinitely more tenderness and kindness from their holy God, than a beloved wife can expect from the kindest husband. When the people were weaned from idols, and loved the Lord, no creature should do them any harm. This may be understood of the blessings and privileges of the spiritual Israel, of every true believer, and their partaking of Christ’s righteousness; also, of the conversion of the Jews to Christ. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary
Isaiah 1:27
Zion shall be redeemed with justice,
And her penitents with righteousness.
Isaiah 54:8
With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,
”Says the LORD, your Redeemer.
Jeremiah 31:34
No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Hosea 6:6
For I desire mercy and not sacrifice,
And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
