Matthew 12:18-21

We must be as wise as the serpent but as gentle as the dove. We need to call out the sin that invades our culture but in the knowledge that God wants no one to perish and all to repent and turn to Him for salvation. In all our dealings we must show the love of Christ and the mercy He extends to mankind in repentance. God will never condone sin. We must acknowledge sin and the affects that come from allowing it in our lives.

The Holy Spirit, Christ within, who guides and directs us is the consummate gentleman. We must invite Him into our lives and cherish all that He teaches us about the Christ. He is our teacher. Through the Jews salvation was offered. in their denial of the deity of Jesus we, as Gentiles, have been offered the right to be called sons of God. We owe them a debt of gratitude. The Father from the beginning  of creation knew the parameters were too small in bringing salvation to them only…Jesus came to offer salvation to the world.

Succession to a throne is often a time of conflict and uncertainty. David’s son Absalom tried to usurp the throne. Solomon’s choice of successor lost more than half the kingdom to a traitor. Menahem assassinated his predecessor in Israel. Royalty is a dangerous business.

This is no less true when the heir is the King of kings. If ever there was a high-stakes succession, this was it. A Man claims to be Israel’s own Messiah; of course all Israel sits up and takes notice. Of course He must prove His credentials: Who wants an impostor? The Book of Matthew presents Jesus’ credentials. It presents Jesus as the King, but King of a totally different kingdom—the kingdom of heaven. NKJ Bible.

The Messiah’s quiet withdrawal was in keeping with the prophet’s portrayal of Him. The most significant aspect of this prophecy is that Jesus’ reserve in the face of Jewish opposition would lead to blessings on the Gentiles.

Matthew 12:18-21
18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen,
My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased!
I will put My Spirit upon Him,
And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
19 He will not quarrel nor cry out,
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench,
Till He sends forth justice to victory;
21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”

Isaiah 42:1 | “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

Isaiah 42:2 | He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

Isaiah 42:3 | A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.

Isaiah 42:4 | He will not fail nor be discouraged,Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

Isaiah 49:3 | “ And He said to me,‘You are My servant, O Israel,In whom I will be glorified.’
