The Harmony of the Gospels…Blessed Unity of the People of God.
His peace He gives to those who trust in Him. A peace that is unknown to the world at large. His peace is easy and covers the trials and tribulations that come in our everyday living. Without God there is no lasting peace. There remains a rest that we can enter into, a gift available to all of God’s people, and we can receive it in direct relationship to how much we believe in His power and His presence in our ordinary, everyday life.
Fear not JESUS has overcome the world!
Psalm 133 is a wisdom psalm (meant to pass on wise teachings) or a corporate psalm of confidence (meant to help a group express trust in God). It is also part of the pilgrimage psalms that were intended to be used during pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
God’s provision and presence enable Israel to dwell together in Jerusalem.Yahweh’s presence was understood to dwell on the temple mount, Mount Zion, in the Jerusalem temple. This made it possible for the people of Israel to live together there. Faithlife Bible.
When God’s people live together in unity, they experience God’s blessing.
The intent of God is for the good of His people in this life and in the life to come. The people of Israel rarely achieved the level of unity—or the level of blessing—that the poem describes. Ultimately, this is a portrait of the kingdom of God. One day there will be the spiritual unity of God’s people that this poem describes. NKJ Bible.
