Luke 6:17-19

There is healing, mentally, physically and most importantly spiritually, in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. In praying for others, in faith believing in His goodness and mercy toward His creation, God’s healing touch is released. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the tomb and now lives in His believers, we can be healed, restored and renewed.

Neither Luke nor Acts has a byline, so we are left to deduce the author’s identity. The author writes that he was not an eyewitness to the events surrounding Jesus but had gathered the reports of others. On the other hand, the author was present with Paul at some of the events described in Acts, events that belong to the “we” sections of Acts. So the author must have been a lately converted Christian who knew Paul and sometimes traveled with him.

Early Christian writings, from the works of Justin Martyr to Tertullian, identify the author as Luke, an identification that was firmly in place by the third century a.d. Luke was an educated man by ancient standards. He was capable of writing in high Greek style, and Colossians 4:10–14 seems to indicate that Luke was not “of the circumcision,” that is, not Jewish. If so, Luke would be the only Gentile author of a New Testament book. Tradition says that after accompanying Paul on some of his missionary journeys, Luke settled in Philippi, investing his life in the ministry of the Philippian church.

There is a fulness of grace in Christ, and healing virtue in him, and ready to go out from him, that is enough for all, enough for each.

They came to be cured by him, and he healed them. There is a fulness of grace in Christ, and healing virtue in him, ready to go out from him, that is enough for all, enough for each. Men regard the diseases of the body as greater evils than those of their souls; but the Scripture teaches us differently.
 Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Luke 6:17-19
17 And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, 18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

36 and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.
Matthew 14:36

10 For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.
Mark 3:10

46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”

Luke 8:46
