Galatians 5:16-22

In a world that votes Pope Francis and Donald Trump tied for the two most admired people in the world….what does this say about us?

We no longer judge those who say that they are Christian by their merit but by popularity. We, as proclaimed Christians, are torn by the way of the Spirit and the way of the world.

We live in dangerous times. One man  living in CHRIST and the other living his life against everything that Christ taught. Keep in mind that the anti-Christ will be popular or he would not be able to deceive so many of God’s people!

God will not be mocked…pray for the world!

The works of the flesh include, but go well beyond, destructive contentions and jealousies. Where there is such behavior, it is positive proof that the person is not living in the power of the Holy Spirit but is being energized by Satan and his hosts.

Galatians 5:16-22
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Romans 8:5

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
Ephesians 5:11

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2 Timothy 3:2–4

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Philippians 2:3
