Philippians 4:6-9

In times such as these when the world seems out of control it is good to remember that God alone gives peace and He alone has the power to guard our hearts from brokenness and our minds from depression. Never tire of doing good and concentrate on the good things in your life and give the rest to God in prayer! If we love God above everything and love everyone else as much as we love ourselves we will fulfill the commands of God and He will give us peace!

Paul exhorts the Philippians to pray about their circumstances instead of worrying over them. He prohibits the Philippians from worrying about their own problems. Instead they are to commit their problems to God in prayer, trusting that He will provide deliverance.

Philippians 4:6-9

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
