Luke 21:14-19

Oh, if only it was easy to silence our mind and to hear that small voice inside us and follow it. Patience, waiting for Him to speak before we speak, is the key to understanding and doing the will of God not only for me but for all of us who believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to teach us and lead us into the will of God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus promises the disciples that the Holy Spirit will assist them in giving testimony. The persecution of the disciples would be painful and severe. Identifying with Jesus often means risking the rejection and denunciation of family, and in some cases martyrdom. Patient allegiance to Jesus leads to eternal life.

Luke 21:14-19

14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19 By your patience possess your souls.
