Leviticus 16:32-34

The animal sacrifices in the Old Testament foreshadowed the Holy Lamb of God who sacrificed His life for all who would accept this gift of God. What in the Old Covenant had to be repeated yearly in the New Covenant was brought to finality. From the beginning of time the Godhead knowing that Adam would fall made a way where there seemed to be no way to bring man back into union. God loves His creation with an unending love and wants that no man perish but that all be saved. The Son of God anointed by the Holy Spirit made atonement for the sins of man once and for all.

Levitcus 16:32-34

And the priest, who is anointed and consecrated to minister as priest in his father’s place, shall make atonement, and put on the linen clothes, the holy garments; 33 then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tabernacle of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34 This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.
