To know Jesus Christ is to know life. He opens our eyes to the fullness of the Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The mind, the body and the heart of the tripartite God who created all revealed in Him.
The understanding that Christ gives enables us to know God in a personal, intimate sense. Jesus Christ is the true God; to know Him is to have eternal life.
5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
