Titus 1:1-3

The truth understands that by faith in Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection alone can we be saved. God promised us this and God does not lie! Our life should show our love for others just as God's love for us was shown in Christ Jesus.

The salvation that God has promised to each of us who know His Son will be fulfilled; God is faithful to His promises. Paul places emphasis on the message, not the messenger. Christians should always focus on Christ, for He is the center of our faith, not any one preacher. The power is in the truth of what is preached, the good news that Christ has saved us from our sins. Paul's commission was as God's "imperial secretary," carrying the royal message of salvation.

1:1Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, 3 but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior
