2 Timothy 1:8-10

In a society where independence reigns supreme it is not always easy to share the mystery of the total dependence we who are believers have in Christ Jesus. Our life is not our own but His who called us. If by sharing the Good News of the salvation given to man in the death and resurrection of Jesus we can give hope to a dying world, do we care what others think?

Grace is God's unearned favor. The Lord called us and saved us in Christ Jesus before time began. The manifestation of God's plan and grace has been revealed, or brought to light, in the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ. God's life, unlike the life of humans, is immortal; He cannot die. Through their faith in Christ, believers have inherited eternal life. We have nothing to fear, not even death. Therefore we can proclaim with boldness our trust in Christ.

1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was
given to us in Christ Jesus before time began
, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel
