Proverbs 22:6

If we raise our children with love and respect they will learn to love and respect themselves and others. If we show our children mercy and forgiveness when they fail they will learn to be merciful and forgiving with themselves and others. If our words and actions show that we love God above all and love others as much as we love ourselves they will see it and they will know it is the way to happiness and peace and they will return to it.

"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)

22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go,

And when he is old he will not depart from it.
