There are millions of us who live with mental illness, either ourselves or those closest to us. Depression is the most common and it can affect everything we do. There are so many who are drug dependent simply to keep them from suicidal thoughts. Loneliness, broken hearts and the stress that it brings can literally kill us. We can call out to God and He can and He does heal. By sharing our experiences of the mercy and healing He has given us we are doing the will of the Father and offering hope to others going through the same situations.
18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. 19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you." 20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.
