Galatians 1:11–12 The Gospel of Grace in Jesus Christ

True  freedom is only found in Jesus Christ. He alone, by His blood shed, overcomes the evil that has permeated this world. He breaks  mankind’s inherited bondage to sin and allows us to live in His righteousness.

Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

We need to love others in the same way that God loves us. John 3:16

Isaiah 61:1-3

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,

Because the Lord has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

3 To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

In the temple Jesus stopped in the middle of the prophesy of Isaiah knowing that the rest of his prophesy would not come until the tribulation. He kept it secret. The age of grace was revealed to Paul. All who would accept God’s gift of salvation by faith in Jesus alone would be saved!

Deuteronomy 29:29  “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Matthew 25:31-36 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

Luke 18:31-34 Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished. 32 For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. 33 They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.” 34 But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken. Christ Heals Bartimaeus

God  that can keep hidden whatever He wants. It is His right alone!

John 20:1-2 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”

John 20:8-9 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.

That Jesus would rise from the dead was hidden from His disciples. It would only be revealed to them that He would after His death. It was hidden until God revealed it in His perfect timing.

Romans 16:25-27 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—27 to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

Galatians 1:11-12 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles,

The secret of the Gospel of Grace was hidden until it was revealed to Paul by Jesus on the road to Damascus.  after a period of determined by Gospel the time of the Gentiles will be finished then the end will come. No one but the Father knows the day. Paul bridged the gap between God’s chosen and the rest of the world that He so loved. John 3:16-18. Carla

Paul began the letter with a defense of his apostleship—it came from God, not people. His argument here is similar, but this time it is not about himself, but his gospel.

Before his encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus, Paul was a strict Jew and zealous opponent of Christianity (Acts 7–9; 22:2–11; Philippians 3:1–15). Pharisaic traditions likely include the Jewish law as well as oral traditions concerning its interpretation (Mark 7:5; Acts 22:3).

“One who set me apart” signals that Paul’s ministry is a continuation of God’s work and voice in the world. Additionally, Paul assumed the role of a prophet by pronouncing a curse upon those who distort the gospel (Galatians  1:8).

Paul emphasizes that God chose him as an instrument to take the gospel to the Gentiles. Paul did not need human approval of his gospel since God Himself revealed His son and the gospel in him (Acts 26:17, 20, 23). Here, Paul’s use of the term “Son” anticipates the transformation explained in Galatians 3–4.

Believers are no longer slaves living under the law, but children living under promise. This is because they have been united with the Son through the Spirit of the Son (4:6–7). Paul directed his ministry primarily to the non-Jewish people (Acts 9:15; 22:21). He considers his missionary work a fulfillment of what God spoke through the prophet Isaiah about being a light to the Gentiles (Acts 13:46–47; Isaiah 49:6). Faithlife Study Bible

There was no human creativity flavoring the gospel Paul preached. Paul knew it only because he received it by special revelation from Jesus Christ at his conversion (Acts 26:12–18). The NKJV Study Bible

1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,

1 Corinthians 2:10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Galatians 1:16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

In a world where cruelty unsettles and unnerves, in a world that calls out for a response, and for restoration, we need to bring our grounded and replenished, heart and self.

“Unconditional love for self, heals and nurtures every aspect of our beings,” Karen Lee White reminds us. “It helps us face fear and hopelessness and refocus on hope, gratitude, and beauty. We may not have been prepared for these unprecedented times, but neither do we need to fall victim to them.” Sabbath Moments

The Bible shows us that we can depend on God for healing and help. He answered Israel's cries in Egypt in Exodus 2:23-24. He delivered David from his enemies in Psalm 18.

He sent us the Savior who heals our souls once and for all: Jesus "bore our sins ... that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24). When we trust in Jesus, we are promised complete healing of mind, body and soul in eternity with Him.

And while we are called to pray for and respect "kings and all who are in high positions" (1 Timothy 2:2), only Jesus reigns supreme (Ephesians 1:22).

So when we feel helpless, let's turn to our Healer and King to save us according to His steadfast love.

As believers today, we know Jesus endured the punishment for our guilt by dying on the cross so we can live free from the destructive power of sin. With this in mind, let's commit to confess and turn from our sin, earnestly seeking our loving God with all our hearts. He is indeed faithful and just (1 John 1:9). First5
