Luke 8:46 Faith makes us whole!

How the Father longs to cover you with the blood of the Lamb! There is healing in His wings.

Safe and protected from evil we can rest in His mercy and grace. We are created to rejoice for faith has healed us and we can rest in the peace He alone can give us.

The Jewish believers knew that Jesus was the King of Israel. James, Peter and John reminded them that there would be tribulation. Jesus would return to them the Kingdom. They thought that the coming of the day of the Lord was very close. They encouraged them to be patient.

Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.

We need by prayer and supplication to place our lives into the loving, merciful hands of our God. Giving thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to listen to Holy Spirit who is placed in our lives to  guide us. We give praise to the creator of our life for His mercy in giving Him to us for our protection. In everything we can make our request known to God and rest in His peace.

1 Peter  1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

The Jewish people had suffered many things but God would comfort them in their suffering. The end will be the return of their Lord and King Jesus Christ. And every heart who had rejected Him will mourn as for their only Son.

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.

Jesus came to Nazareth and in the synagogue He announced the acceptable year of the Lord and that it had been fulfilled.And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

It is finished! Carla

Luke 8:46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. 48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” The New King James Version

Luke’s third demonstration of Jesus’ messiahship in this chapter involves two miracles. The first testifies to His power over sickness and the human body; the second shows His power over death.

The woman might have feared that Jesus would be angry, since she did not ask permission—especially if touching Jesus made Him ceremonially unclean. Alternatively, her trembling may simply indicate an appropriate level of awe and reverence at the display of Jesus’ healing power. Faithlife Study Bible

It took great courage for her to seek out Jesus. Note that her action was not criticized, but commended. The NKJV Study Bible

And many a poor soul is healed, and helped, and saved by Christ, that is hidden in a crowd, and nobody notices it. This woman came trembling, yet her faith saved her. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Luke 7:50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Luke 5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Mark 5:34 | And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Knowing God is true, trustworthy and faithful is the greatest source of comfort in my life. He is a good friend who I can trust, who speaks truth to my heart and encourages me. Yet God is much more than a good friend! He is the One in control of all things … yet He still holds my life in His hands.

The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever" (Revelation 11:15). One day, His Kingdom will be fully established forever when Jesus returns to gather His people to Himself for all eternity. Until then, we choose to walk by faith, knowing that all the magnificent and powerful monarchs and monarchies of this world are no match for the power of the living God. No matter the chaos in our world or in our lives, we can trust in the sweetness of God's sovereignty over it all. First5

Let’s give Marcus Borg the last word, “Given all of life’s ambiguities and the reality of impermanence and suffering, our existence is remarkable, wondrous. It evokes awe and amazement. We need to pay attention. Really pay attention. Lest we become blind to the awe and wonder that fills our days.” Sabbath Moments
