Life Church Vineyard

Pastor Mitch Price

Micah 6:8 Be Fair, Be forgiving, Be humble!!

We can:

Do all the right things for the wrong reason (trying to earn our way in our own perceived righteousness like the Pharisees and Scribes)

Do the wrong things for what society tells us is the right reason (like Matthew the tax collector who did what was required of him  because he wanted to keep his job)

OR we can choose to: Do the right thing for the right reason by weighing everything that we do in Gods’  commands to love Him above all and others as much as ourself.

I just want to speak the name of Jesus over every heart and every mind! His name is  Life…

“Becoming good soil by wacking the weeds of the world”.

Matthew 13:

13 On the same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

We need to plant in good soil in order to produce a harvest. We cannot let weeds continue to grow in our spirit and let the worries of life choke out the very Spirit of God.

18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

You can move from the worries of this life into the realm of the Spirit and trust Him to guide you.

Galatians 6:7-9

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The fruit of the Spirit is shown in the love we share with others and the trust we have in God to care for us in both the good times and the bad times

The Kingdom of God gives us true peace…the world cannot.

Galatians 5:1

5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

We need to dig deep to eradicate those things in our life that come against the direction God gives us in His Word and in the direction of Holy Spirit. God wants us to have a good, abundant life of freedom in Jesus that we can share with others. Worry cannot add anything to our life. If God cares for the flowers He created how much more does He care about us. We can be concerned but we stop short of worry. We trade our concern by placing them in His hands and then allowing Him to direct our steps.

Philippians 4:4-9

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things!
