Jeremiah 2:19

How easy it is to get caught up in the things of this world.we must choose daily who we will serve. As Christians we are held to a different standard, Christs’, to be a light to a world in darkness.

As for me and my house…give me Jesus!!

This verse uses the Hebrew word shuv, which can mean both “to turn” and “to repent.” Rather than turning back to Yahweh in contrition, Israel has turned away in rebellion. Faithlife Bible.

Backslidings means “turnings.” Israel had turned in every direction for help except to the true source of safety and security. The phrase says the Lord God of hosts confirms the severity of the crime and the certainty of the punishment about to befall the people of God. NKJ Bible.

Jeremiah 2:19 (NKJV)
19 Your own wickedness will correct you,
And your backslidings will rebuke you.
Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing
That you have forsaken the Lord your God,
And the fear of Me is not in you,”
Says the Lord God of hosts.

Isaiah 3:9 (NKJV)
9 The look on their countenance witnesses against them,
And they declare their sin as Sodom;
They do not hide it.
Woe to their soul!
For they have brought evil upon themselves.

Jeremiah 4:18 (NKJV)
18 “Your ways and your doings
Have procured these things for you.
This is your wickedness,
Because it is bitter,
Because it reaches to your heart.”

Hosea 5:5 (NKJV)
5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face;
Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity;
Judah also stumbles with them.
