Jeremiah 50:32

God HATES pride and arrogance and He will recompense those who use it to oppress others.

Vengeance belongs to Him alone.

The imagery of judgment on Babylon in this passage emphasizes reversals—rest for the earth but unrest for Babylon, the wise are made foolish, the strong are made weak, treasure becomes plunder, and water dries up. Faithlife Bible.

The wise and righteous Ruler would plead the case of the oppressed children of Judah and obtain their redemption. A redeemer was one who secured the freedom of a kinsman, protecting family rights. And no one will raise him up;

I will kindle a fire in his cities,
