1 Corinthians 1:4-9

Gods’ desire is for all people to be saved!

He will take the most unlikely, sin enslaved people, and fill them with His Holy Spirit. Precept by precept, as they listen to His prompting, people are changed. All of this is to point to and glorify His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We are His hands and feet to do good and by our example lead others to His amazing, saving grace.

There is power in His name to save, to change, to overcome this world if we do not give up!

The thanksgiving Paul offers to God for the Corinthians seems odd, considering the many problems the church was experiencing. However, Paul focuses his praise not on the troubled Corinthians but on the eternally faithful God. Paul does not praise the Corinthians for their good works as he does some other churches; instead, he praises God who works in them.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Romans 1:8

10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Titus 2:13

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Philippians 1:6

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

John 15:4
