God provided salvation in Jesus Christ it is up to us to ask for His forgiveness and to return to Him! The simplicity of the Gospel message provides the path to life so that anyone who seeks Him will find Him.
The confession begins with acknowledgment of the Lord as God in accordance with the First Commandment....that we put God first in our lives....in our hearts and in our actions.
Jeremiah 3:22
22 “Return, you backsliding children,
And I will heal your backslidings.”
“Indeed we do come to You,
For You are the Lord our God.
