James 2:8-9

God loves everyone, rich or poor, black or white, female or male. He loves those who believe in Him and those who do not. He created man in His image and He cares for each and every individual person. We must do the same. We do not have the right to pick and choose those we love and those we do not if we want to be authentic Christians. We cannot fulfill God's command to love if we have prejudice in our heart.

The royal law is the law of love, (see 1:25; Lev. 19:18; Matt. 22:39), a law superior to all other laws.

2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
