Psalm 21:4 God gives us an abundant life and it is good.

It is like the dew of Hermon,

Descending upon the mountains of Zion;

For there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore.

In God is life and that life is eternal. We are blessed here and forever. He knows His desires for us and they are good to prosper and protect us from the evil that seeks to destroy us. Carla

Psalm 21:4

He asked life from You, and You gave it to him—

 Length of days forever and ever. (NKJV)

King David acknowledges that all he has is God’s gift; his kingship itself (the crown) is a gift from the Lord. But God’s greatest gift is life—temporal and eternal. In response to God for His many gifts, David trusts in the Lord, for he knows that this trust is not misplaced (15:5). These words of this passage should not be limited to King David, for they also speak generally of God’s blessings on all believers. Each of us shares in the blessings of true royalty when we place our trust in the Lord, the Great King. The NKJV Study Bible

The Israelites considered long life a blessing from God (91:16), a reward for obedience or wisdom (Deuteronomy 30:20; Proverbs 3:1–2). Faithlife Study Bible

Psalm 61:5–6

For You, O God, have heard my vows;

You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.

You will prolong the king’s life,

His years as many generations.

Psalm 91:16

With long life I will satisfy him,

And show him My salvation.”

2 Samuel 7:19

And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O Lord GOD; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come. Is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? 

This week, we embrace the invitation to sanctify--and embrace delight in--the ordinary.
The hiding place for the holy.
May Sarton put it best (and now my daily mantra). “I spend the first 20 minutes of my morning walking the garden looking for miracles.”
I am struck by the rootedness that comes with investment.
