The only way to thrive spiritually in this fallen world is to keep our eyes on Jesus. When we begin to look at our own failures we fall into a false humility that serves no one. When we take the focus off of ourselves and on His righteousness we can be used by God to help spread the truth of Jesus Christ. All things done out of our love for God will not fail…..for love is God! Each day that we are given is one more extension of His mercy and His grace for man. Alone we can do nothing, with Christ in us and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, nothing is impossible.
Jude tells us how to keep ourselves in the love of God. It is clear that Jude is encouraging us to cultivate our love for Christ, for we cannot be separated from His love for us.
1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
