Pneuma Hagion translated is Holy Spirit. He is the power on high. He convicts us when we stray and shows us the way to eternal life. He changes us from the inside out!
Acts 10:44-45 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
At the rejection of the Jews to Jesus, their redeemer King, the world was opened to the power of Holy Spirit in their lives to all who believe. He accomplishes all that is needed to change us, precept by precept, into the image of His Son.
Joy in the Lord is our strength!
Romans 2:16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
1 Corinthians 15:1-10 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Acts 15:28-29 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell
The 12 Apostles recognized that salvation had come to the Gentiles the same as the Jewish believers in Christ and that the Law that governed the Jew did not apply to the Gentile believers. They did not have to convert to Judaism, for Christ had fulfilled all that was necessary for salvation by His birth, death and resurrection. To the Apostle Paul was given the Gospel of Grace to share with the world. All who believe in the incarnate Jesus Christ will be saved. John 3:16 It was finished! Carla
Paul’s gospel to the Corinthians centered on the physical death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who became human yet never sinned (Galatians 1:6–10). Paul had started the Corinthian church; the gospel that the Corinthians had originally received came from him (2:2). Paul did not originate the proclamation of Jesus that he delivered to the Corinthians; he simply gave the Corinthians what he himself had received. He viewed himself as a link in a long chain of witnesses to the truth of the death and resurrection of Christ.
Christ died for our sins: Christ’s death dealt decisively with our sins. He suffered in our place to endure the just wrath of God against us. Christ lived and died in accordance with the prophecies about Him in the Old Testament (Psalms 16:10; Isaiah 53:8–10).
The Resurrection verifies the fact that Christ’s death paid the full price for sin. The Greek term translated rose here is in the perfect tense, emphasizing the ongoing effects of this historical event. Christ is a risen Savior today.
At the time of Paul’s writing, a person could have verified the truthfulness of the apostle’s statements. The majority of the five hundred people who saw the risen Christ, as well as all the apostles and James (the half brother of Jesus), were still living.
Born out of due time is probably Paul’s comment on the unique way he became an apostle. Unlike the other apostles, who had the benefit of an initial training period with Christ, Paul became an apostle abruptly, with no opportunity for earthly contact with Christ or His teaching.
Paul considered himself the least of the apostles because at one time he had persecuted the church (Acts 22:4; Ephesians 3:8; 1 Timothy 1:15, 16). Even though Paul got a late start and did not have the discipleship training that the other apostles did, he traveled further, established more churches, and wrote more Scripture than all of them (2 Corinthians 11:23–27). But Paul attributed his success to the grace of God. The NKJV Study Bible
One born at the wrong time refers to the abnormal manner in which Paul became an apostle. The Greek word used by Paul here, ektrōma, sometimes translated as “abortion,” suggests that Paul considered himself different than the other apostles. For Paul, this “abnormality” serves as proof of his apostleship. Paul considers his apostleship to be a sign of God’s grace and mercy because he did not deserve it. Paul uses the Greek word ekklēsia here to refer to all Christians, especially those in Jerusalem. Faithlife Study Bible
Luke 24:36–44 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit…
Luke 24:33–34 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
Isaiah 53:1–12
Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him…
Mark 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen
…we might ask ourselves how often unbelievers actually do a better job at displaying mercy than Christians do. After all, we serve a God who rescued us when we deserved punishment for our sin, so our mercy should be greater than the world's (Matthew 18:33)!
Romans 5:8 says it like this: "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
My prayer is that we would remember God's amazing grace unto us and extend grace unto others without condition.Certainly, we can never go wrong when we show mercy. First5
