Since the fall contentment is so elusive. We are always striving for something better instead of enjoying the life we have now. Maturity in Christianity is being content with gratitude for all that God has given us whether in plenty or in need. In all things with prayer asking Him into our situation and then to rest in Him knowing that He cares for us and desires the best for us. We know the plans that He has are good.we need to trust Him.
The Covenants of God for His creation are yes and amen!
When Christ returns all of humanity will be under the New Covenant. It started with the Abrahamic Covenant God made with Abraham.
Genesis 11:31-32 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there. 32 So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran.
Out of the abject idolatry that existed in those times God called Abraham to walk with Him and in his faithfulness the truth of God would be revealed to the world.
Genesis 12:1-3 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
After the death of his father God called Abraham to leave his homeland and follow Him. In faith Abraham believed and it was counted to him as righteousness. In his faithfulness all the world would be offered the knowledge of God which is the beginning of wisdom.
Genesis 13:14-17 14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”
In order for Christ to come to earth many things needed to happen. The plan of salvation started with this covenant made with Abraham.
Genesis 15:5-6 5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
Before the law and the circumcision Abraham was saved by faith. So are we by faith saved in the blood of Jesus Christ. Faith plus nothing. In Jesus alone is the hope of the world. In order to believe we must receive the word of God fulfilled in Jesus the Christ. Carla
Despite Adam and Eve's disobedience, which yielded a fallen world and fallen people, God had a plan to restore the world and redeem His people.
First, He would make covenants with His people that offered blessings for obedience to Him (Deuteronomy 28:2).Then, even when people failed to obey the covenant of the Law, God would send His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear our sin and its resulting curses. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us ..."(Galatians 3:13). Jesus reversed the curse by paying the ultimate price for our sins with His sinless life (Romans 8:2-3).
