God is love! Everything in His creation is done in order and in peace. His peace He gives us especially in the most trying of events in our lives.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
Jesus sends this message: No playground displays of superiority. Don’t call any person common. Don’t call any person unfit. Every person matters to God! Max Lucado
2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Jesus is truth and the elect were the believers of Him. His grace, mercy and peace will be with us always.
Love others as God loves us. God so loved the world that He gave us redemption in Jesus that allows us to willingly choose to return our love to Him. We are able to love because He first loved us. In love we keep His commandment to love God above all and others as ourselves. We accomplish this by seeking the highest good for others.
Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Paul writing to Gentile believers expressed his love for them and that our love allow us to approve the newness of the Gospel of Grace He was given to minister to them. We are filled with the righteousness of Christ and His love for us enables us to love others as He loves us.
Romans 5:9
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
God showed His love for mankind in that while we were still sinners Jesus died for us.
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
We should seek the things of the Spirit not the things of the flesh. In His guidance we will fulfill the will of God in our life. Eternal life is a life of peace which only comes by faith. In ourselves we cannot please God but in Christ and in the power of Holy Spirit we can. Thank You that Your mercies are new everyday…precept by precept we mature. Carla
Paul anticipated that some people might claim that they could not prevent themselves from prophesying when God brought a revelation to them. He explained that the Holy Spirit does not overpower the person through whom He speaks. The NKJV Study Bible
1 Corinthians 7:17 But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches.
Although Matthew 26:53 reminds us Jesus could have called for "more than twelve legions of angels" (CSB) to come to His aid, He chose to experience exile on the cross for our sake. As Bible commentator Matthew Henry notes, a voice from heaven comforted Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane (John 12:27-28), and angels took care of Him in the wilderness (Mark 1:13; Matthew 4:11). On the cross, however, He was alone.
And Jesus reminds us to call out to our Father in heaven in our most difficult times. God is not offended by our cries or our need for help. He desires for us to connect with Him and seek Him when life feels heavy. May we rest in the blessed assurance that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. He was forsaken for us in His death, and then He rose again to give us eternal life (Matthew 28:6). We can trust Him. First5
So many of the storms we’ve seen this year (in many parts of our world) have been quite literally life-threatening. And some, deadly.
And some storms, are not. Even so, they still rock our world. And, let us not forget, all storms have stories, with names and faces.
Most storms, in our life and world, are not even weather related, though the effect feels the same. Times when relationships unravel. Health deteriorates. Beliefs crumble. Hope evaporates.
And this much is undeniable: sometime in our life, every single one of us needs a storm-home. And every single one of us has the capacity to be a storm-home to someone in need. Sabbath Moments
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
